Who We Are

That Little Something Special is a licensed bakery and novelty gift business in Detroit, Michigan focusing on all kinds of novel cakes, chocolates, and handmade gift items.

Our baking is done at our licensed facility located at 4849 W. Outer Drive in Detroit, Michigan.  This facility is not a traditional storefront, as it is used by us only for baking, but customer pickup is available at this location by appointment.  This arrangement allows us to keep our prices reasonable while providing high quality products and services.

In addition, we deliver 7 days a week to most of Southeast Michigan through a network of delivery personnel.

What We Do

At That Little Something Special - Novelty Cakes & Gifts, we believe in
making Special Occasions especially memorable.  We are committed to
providing cakes that are superior in taste and beautiful to behold.

Melanie Martin, our Owner and Head Designer , received professional
training in cake decorating at the Wilton School of Cake Decorating and
Confectionary Art in Darien, Illinois near Chicago.  There she completed
the prestigious Wilton "Master Course," covering topics from basic party
cakes to fully decorated multi-tiered wedding cakes. 

An accomplished seamstress, Ms. Martin is equally skilled at designing and making custom designed gift baskets for all occasions.
